VISUAL ART - VISUAL DRAWING
In Visual Drawing, learners must acquire the skills necessary
for them to be able to transform what they see into original
drawings that fuse originality of vision with a high degree
of technical skill.
Grade 10: Learners focus mainly on techniques of observational
drawing from life, and use traditional media such as pencil
and charcoal.
Grade 11: Learners explore a variety of visual sources as
well as media. At this level, learners are also expected to
introduce content into their work by considering the symbolic
potential of imagery.
Grade 12: Learners are expected to focus on a favoured medium
to develop a high degree of technical skill in that medium.
They are required to develop an individualistic approach to
subject matter and style.
