VISUAL ART - VISUAL DRAWING


In Visual Drawing, learners must acquire the skills necessary for them to be able to transform what they see into original drawings that fuse originality of vision with a high degree of technical skill.

Grade 10: Learners focus mainly on techniques of observational drawing from life, and use traditional media such as pencil and charcoal.

Grade 11: Learners explore a variety of visual sources as well as media. At this level, learners are also expected to introduce content into their work by considering the symbolic potential of imagery.

Grade 12: Learners are expected to focus on a favoured medium to develop a high degree of technical skill in that medium. They are required to develop an individualistic approach to subject matter and style.
