GRADE 8 - 9
In grade 8 to 9 the
learners do a course in General Art. The emphasis is on the
practical component with a general overview of art through
the ages in the theory component. The grade 8 and 9 years
form a unity as all the practical disciplines that are practised
as specialized directions are covered during the two years.
We do a project in painting, sculpture, ceramics, illustration,
printmaking, drawing and photography.
The learners are therefore exposed to all the disciplines
and this enables them to make an informed decision at the
end of grade 9, when they have to make a subject chocie for
grade 10 to 12.
